... and a little fiction ...
Finally, I have some time off work! So I can catch up with some writing for what seems like the first time in ages.
I do want to work on my novel (still not sure which one!) and write and sub some short stories. But the main thing I want to do is tackle the non-fiction article about my grandfather which I have pitched to a specialist magazine. Like the story about my grandparents and my parents, which was accepted for publication recently, I feel that this story is important and that's why I want to tell it.
My grandfather was a wonderful person and it will be an honour to write about him.

Oh! How intriguing Helen...your words plus the photo already spark so many thoughts. I would love to read about your grandfather.
That photo is precious!
Something you just have to write.
That's baby's face is soo cute:-)
pah - 'that baby's face'.
(gosh, looks like an eejit writes my comments:-)
Do you know how much like you that baby looks?
Thanks ladies!
Pacha - I have boxes of photos like this which I took from my parent's house when they died. I'm so lucky to have them.
Lane and Leigh - yes, that baby is my mother! Hence the family likeness and extreme cuteness!
Please tell us where where we can read your work and when?
Hi Fiona
The story I am about to write about my grandfather has been offered to 'Britain at War' magazine. No idea at this stage whether they will actually accept it or not, although I have had a very nice helpful email from them. The other story, which is about my parents and grandparents, has been accepted by 'This England' As they are quarterly it may be a while before it is actually published. I will, of course, be letting people know on this blog when/if there is any news!
