Time to ...

... get on with it!

I have the next three days just to get on with writing. Now, this is pretty unheard of these days so I really need to use the time well.

I haven't got off to a good start. Today - I wanted to sort out my writing room so that I could spend the next three days writing in a serene atmosphere rather than chaos. Actually I've got very little done because I've got a hideous cold - typical! And the rest of the house was a mess as well, so I had to do something about that first. So all I've manged to do today is a 300 word post to Your Messages, but that's better than nothing I guess.

So fellow bloggers - I set the following goals for the next three days.

To go through all my short stories and revise/edit/resub as necessary.
To at least decide on a strategy for dealing with the 'two novels, no clue what to do' problem.
To begin to plan the article about my grandfather. Before I can really get on with this I need to go and get his scrapbooks from my brother's house, but I can at least make a start with the photos and letters I have here.
I will not feel sorry for myself and do nothing!

I'll let you know how I get on!

I know what you mean about having to sort your writing room out before you can start. I can't write properly with lots of untidiness around me.

Good luck over the next few days!

I spent today cleaning the house too and now will finish ironing and then...then?

Good luck with the writing over the next few days! Sounds as though you will be veeeery busy!

Look after yourself and get rid of your cold too though! (surely you're allowed a insy winsy bit of self pity seeing as you have a cold?)

You lucky girl.
Make sure your lovely three days don't go the way of Lane's two hours.
You'll have to post updates, to prove you're getting on with it.

Helen - thanks for understanding.

Pacha - thank you - yes a little self pity is called for I think. I just don't want it to get in the way of doing something worthwhile. I've been waiting for this writing time so long.

Leigh - I will do daily updates. Hopefully that will keep me on track!

Right!
No fondling Edgar.
No feeding Smudge (well maybe just a little)
No U2 listening unless you can work to it.
No listening to the afternoon play.
No watching afternoon 'movie' starring Melissa Gilbert.
Got that?
Good.
Now down a Lemsip and go write:-)
And enjoy it:-)
