Another ...

... Eventful day!

Today, I was hoping to spend the day writing. In fact I was hoping to make significant progress on John's War. However - life had other ideas. In fact, I've spent a considerable part of the last 24 hours sitting around in intensive care at a nearby hospital. Fortunately the person concerned is now much better, but it's all been a bit of a horribly stressful reality check.

I wasn't supposed to be working today - hence the big plans for progressing John's War. But as I was at the hospital until lunchtime I've only managed to squeeze some writing into the latter part of this afternoon.

As I didn't manage to do my 300 words at all yesterday (for good reasons) or on Saturday (for no particularly good reason I'm afraid!) - I've done two lots of 300 words today in response to my first two prompts.

These are just some tiny snippets of what I came up with.

What is Grace really like?

She is a dreamer, but her dreams are of homely things.

Why won't Lucy let Grace help her?

Being secretive has become a habit for Lucy. After the incident with the kitten, she shuts down her emotions and is unable to share her feelings with anyone.

Isn't homely a great word? I know it's not much but managing to write 600 words today with everything else that has been going on feels like quite an achievement! If anyone would like to suggest some prompts, please feel free! I need another twenty!

Barring any more disasters or emergencies, I will try to keep on track with 300 words a day for the rest of the month. (Well maybe not Christmas Day!)

What a horrible 24 hours. I'm amazed you managed to do any writng at all!

Homely is a great word. It suggests nests and warmth and a good heart:-)

I'm really hoping it's an uneventful week for you (and I mean that in a good way) with lots of stress free writing time.

Oh Helen! I'm so sorry to hear things have been stressful although relieved to know that it has turned out fine.

Love to read the responses to your prompts.

Pacha - I will keep posting little extracts from my repsonses - that way you will all know that I am actually doing it!!!

Wayne - thanks very much.

Leigh - I know you've spent more than your fair share of time in hospitals recently as well. Don't you just hate it!?

Hope you're looking after you too honey.

I am trying 1,000 words a day - giving a few spare days to finish by he end of the month. Targets are good.

I blogged about a book today that I think you might like too. I am using it for writig prompts (don't think it was supposed to be used that way), but I thought about you when I was blogging it.
