... for the AA
(That's the Automobile Association, not Alcoholics Anonymous - although it's been a close run thing today!)
Today has been a very bad car day! The car has not been behaving itself. And I've had to call the AA out - twice.
I thought most big organisations had totally forgotten about customer service, but today the AA has restored my faith. Both the people I spoke to at the call centre were lovely, and both the mechanics who came out - once to my house and once to my office - were efficient, polite and helpful.
I get quite hysterical about car related problems, so membership of the AA is money really well spent. I salute them!

Car problems are nasty, not to mention scary so glad you got it all sorted out with good service.
I've got just about every cover with the RAC, home start, recovery, the whole lot. I need it with my car:-)
Ouch! At least the mechanics were nice. Car problems upset me more than they should too. But if you had to call AA out twice then I suspect you had good reason to be worried! Hope all is sorted and you are driving around happily and serenely today!
Ooooh and so I salute them too.
Happy driving.

I've had good experiences with the AA too. Very nice men, they are.
Good for the AA for being so helpful. Horrible for you though to have car trouble. Whenever my car plays up I have a tantrum and want to sell it.
Last week I forgot to turn the key fully off and had a completely dead battery the next morning though dh sorted it out in no time, thankfully.
I agree. They were extremely polite the time I ran out of petrol (blushes)!
Lane - yes, problem no. 2 was potentially quite dangerous, so I'm glad I could get someone to come and sort it out!
Pacha - today all is serene car wise. it's a lovely car and rarely gives me problems so yesterday was a bit of a shock
Caroline - credit where credit's due!
Womagwriter - they were very nice men. Very sympathetic to my car's plight!
Debs - yes, I did throw a bit of a tantrum as it happens!
Karen - I'm a terror for taking it right to the limit with petrol. I'm sure it's only a matter of time ...
Technoson broke down on a really busy dual cariageway on the way to Alton Towers last year. He hadn't got any breakdown cover.
An AA man stopped and said they would bring his car, him and his friends home if Nick paid the year's subs. He was so grateful because if he'd called out an independent breakdown firm it would have cost him hundreds of pounds.
So I salute them too!
They are indeed nice men. I only switched recently from RAC but I never had to call them out so can't really compare. Last time I needed 'roadside assistance' I ended up being taken home by the traffic police!
