A meme ...

... Tagged by Lovely Leigh and Perfect Pacha

Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself

I am the proud owner of books signed by John Nettles, Colin Dexter, and Richard Ford.

When I applied to university, I selected the places to apply to based on their proximity to the sea.

I love coffee, but I hate anything coffee flavoured, coffee cake, coffee creams , tiramisu … how weird is that?

My favourite places in the world are – Sydney Harbour, Dublin, Wroclaw, New England.

I have a full set of Friends on DVD – every single episode!

When I was a child, I used to have a hamster called Candy Hardstone. Don’t ask why!

I think everyone has done this by now, but if you haven't - consider yourself tagged!

Perfect...far far from it! I loved reading this meme. I need to live near the sea too. When I lived in the mountains I would have to go to see lakes or something watery (bathtub?) every now and then...for a dosage of water!

It is sooooo soothing. Where did you go to uni in the end? I went to Swansea because of Dylan Thomas and the sea!

I am the same about coffee. I am coffee mad but tiramisu etc...make me gag!

Thanks for doing this! So much fun reading about these...well, details that make us up as a whole.

OOh! Ooh! Ooh! I went to Swansea as well!!!! How amazing! (and so did Jason - the Welshman - but not at the same time as me!) When were you there?

Pacha said...

Nooooooo...OMG! I was there from 1992-1995. English Lit. You?

I love reading these memes.

I'd have given anything to go to uni, but having somewhat messed up my secondary school years it took me until I was in my forties to make up for it.

Pacha - I'm a bit older than you my dear! I was there from 1986 to1989. I did Social Anthropology in the lovely North Arts building!

Annieye - it was a really brilliant time and I still appreciate the great privilege that it was.

Ooooh Helen, I can't believe we went to the same uni! I miss the Mumbles and walking on the Gower. Sooooo romantic, wild and well, wet most of the time.

But I hold Wales so so so close to my heart!

Cripes you went to the same Uni you two! How cool is that!?

Living near the sea is soo important. I'm near, but one day hope to be right there

And may I just say that Tiramisu is a pud put on this earth to pleasure us. Can you not see that!!:-)

I love these little details about each other. They build such a big picture. One day we'll meet in Lovely Pacha's bookshop, eat bananas and it'll seem like we've known each other all our lives:-)

I'm the same with chocolate. Love the stuff, but can't stand chocolate ice-cream, chocolate cake, chocolate spread, or chocolate-flavoured anything else (except Cadbury's hot water, with marshmallows on top).

What a shame you and Pacha missed each other at uni. My brother-in-law and I did the same, as did my Dad and his brother-in-law.

(Lane - the bookshop's fine by me, as long as we can go to the pub afterwards, okay?)

HelenMH said...

Lane - yes, i'm ridiculously pleased about it! It's so lovely! Sorry, can't get the tiramisu thing!

Leigh - now, not liking chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream is just wrong! But I'm with you on the pub idea.

Great post - I save it for when my life calms a little. And you went to the same uni as perfect pacha!

Caroline - I know, isn't it wonderful? And without this meme I would never have known!

Helen, I'm a sea-lover too, and ended up at Sussex university because it's near Brighton. Now living in Bournemouth for no better reason than because it has a beach.

Good meme.

Ooh, I'm exactly the same with coffee - everyone thinks it's weird, but now I know it's officially NOT :)

Ever tried Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee? One of the rarest coffees in the world, and the name is protected by law.

It's the most beautiful flavour I've ever tasted. The real thing is expensive stuff, but Stokes of Lincoln make a blend that is specifically mixed to taste similar.

Cheers,
Mike

Womagwriter - Sussex was on my list too! And I also love Bournemouth.

Karen - I thought it was just me as well! Good to know it's not!

Fpduck - no I haven't - but it sounds fab. Must get me some! And welcome to my blog!

That was great Helen. Living in Jersey I've met John Nettles in fact my ex bro-in-law was Liza Goddard's stand-in for an episode when she went on a jet-ski. We all teased him as he had to wear a blonde wig but he was 16 and got paid rather well and so had the last laugh.

I'm not mad about coffee but I love chocolate in every form, unfortunately.

Oh Wow - John Nettles is so lovely!
