... Entertainment?
Following a heavy day at work yesterday, I spent the evening discussing the nature of entertainment with two seven year olds and an eleven year old. (Don't ask!)
So what do they find entertaining? Their answers may surprise you!
Property Programmes! (why?) Newsround!! Top Gear!!! Match Of The Day!!!!
I'm so glad I don't write for children ...
And now it's the weekend. Lots of writing to do - but, for a change - lots of lovely time to do it!
Some plans - write another couple of chapters of AOP, research market for John's War, do another book review for bookersatz, find a home for a story that's had a couple of near misses. Wish me luck!

Good luck Helen! Have a great weekend.
I'm asking - who are these 7 and 11 year olds?:-)
My 10 year old loves Top Gear too - probably because the humour is so wonderfully childish.
All the best with your writing Helen and have a great weekend:-) x
My two hate property programmes and groan loudly if I put one on but love Top Gear.
Best of luck with your writing plans and book review. Happy Easter.
Good luck with your writing and have a lovely weekend Helen! It's cold here so thats a good excuse for staying in and working myself!
Made me laugh reading about the TV choice of the kids you talked to! (Mine are typical in that it has to cartoons or films for kids and thats that!)
Sounds like a heavenly weekend. I wish you ooddles of muse-inspired words, and a bottle (or two) of really nice wine! Have a lovely time. Happy Easter!
Yvonne - thanks, you too!
Lane - to be honest I don't think they were typical kids! They also said they'd rather be out doing things than watching TV anyway!
Debs - yes, I would expect youngsters to find property programmes boring! I thought I'd misheard when they first mentioned it!
Pacha - thanks m'dear. It's snowing here, so definitely not going out!
Leigh - it's a rare thing but blissful. Hoping to get loads done.
My son is addicted to Top Gear - a novel about cars...hmmm. I don't see myself being able to pull it off, to be honest!
I've lots of lovely writing time coming up too, and I'm going to make the most of it :o)
Karen - how about a novel about Jeremy Clarkson? The mind boggles!
You know that I wish you lots of luck.
Always.
x
Caroline - I know you do darling. Thanks xxx
Oh I must have the mind of a 7 to 11 year old then as I love property programmes too! I think it's a legitimate way to sneek a peek into other peoples' houses ;-)
Sally - I love all that too, and for the same reasons! I'm sure I wouldn't have when I was seven though!
