... and my other lovely blog readers
Sadly, Smudge isn't at all well and the vet thinks he probably has a tumour behind his eye. Just trying to deal with all the implications of this at the moment.
Update: thanks to everyone for your kind messages. Today, the patient is sunning himself in the conservatory as though he hasn't got a care in the world. Unfortunately, when we saw the vet on Friday the prognosis wasn't good. If it is an aggressive tumour then there isn't very much that can be done. Meanwhile, we're giving an anti-inflammatory drug a try just to see if it offers any relief and we're due to go back to the vet next Friday. All positive thoughts are much appreciated.

Oh Helen! I'm so sorry! *hugs* and a big hug for Smudge. Hope it can be resolved quickly and painlessly and promptly.
Oh...that doesn't sound at all good :-(
Hope the vet comes up with a magic remedy :-)
Hugs and love to you both x
So sorry to hear that Helen :o(
Helen, I am sorry. I hope the vet can come up with a course of treatment that can sort this out for him.
Hugs to Smudge and to you xxx
That's so sad. I hope something can be done Helen.
There's a little award for you over at mine xx
Oh, Helen,
I so hope the vet can do something. Is Smudge going to have an X-ray?
Sending lots of positive vibes and hugs for you and Smudge. Please keep us updated
Love
Pat and Tessa B xx
I'm wishing you and Smudge lots of love and hugs, Helen.
Oh, poor Smudge. Sending lots of positve vibes and hoping it can all be sorted out quickly for him.
More hugs.

So sorry that on visiting your blog for the first time I read about poor Smudge - that is the downside of owning (or being owned by) animals. Thinking of you.
Very sorry to hear Smudge is so poorly Helen. Sending thoughts your way xx
Smudge features in my bunny story, y'know.
My friends cat had a tumour on her eye and the anti inflammatory drugs did help.
Sending lots of posivibes x
Lots of positive vibes from us, too!
Have you heard of the 'absent healing' list? At 7am or/and 11am and 7pm/and or 11pm just close your eyes and think of Smudge and any other animal or human who needs healing.
Your Smudge has already had my thoughts since you told us, and will carry on getting them
xxPat
Big hugs to you both. I hope the anti-inflammatories work well.
X
Oh Helen. I know just what you are going through. Our lovely Springer Spaniel, Max, had a tumour which eventually claimed his life, but it was nearly four years between us discovering it and it causing him any pain, other than him going deaf, through the treatment that he received. I do hope the Vet can help him.
