Alternative 'Mums'

I am looking for a female case study who was looked after/brought up or significantly supported, either in childhood or adulthood by someone other than their real mother and would now like to say a big thank you to their ‘alternative mother’.

It’s for a positive piece about women who have been significantly mothered and supported by someone other than their actual mother.

The Case Study would need to be adult now, as the piece will be from her point of view, and I will need a photo of her with her ‘alternative mother’ and to carry out a telephone interview with her.

I’m interested in a variety of ‘alternative mother’ set ups, eg someone who was brought up by or has had substantial mothering from grandmother, aunt, female family friend etc because

• Real mother is/was in armed forces and therefore away.
• Real mother has health/mental health issues or maybe a long stay in hospital.
• Or any other reason really …

I have already been offered some foster mother/foster daughter case studies, so not really looking for any more of those.

Needs to be UK based and able to do a brief telephone interview.
